Your first few minutes

When you load in, you get a starting seed and a small farm. The early loop is: roll a seed, plant, click to harvest, sell at the sell station, buy upgrades. That sounds simple, but which upgrade you buy first changes how fast you progress.

The in-game pitch is: grow crops, sell for cash, add belts and machines until the farm runs on its own. That “hands-off” stage is the goal. This page gets you moving toward it.

Step by step from scratch

  1. Roll and equip a seed. You will usually start on a Common crop — that is fine.
  2. Click plots to plant and harvest. Crops need time to grow; harvest when they are ready.
  3. Sell at the sell station until you can afford upgrades. Early on, that means a lot of walking.
  4. Buy Click Amount first so each click is worth more, then work toward the order below.
  5. Redeem BUZZBUZZ under Settings → Codes for a free Nature Bee when you are ready to use bees.
  6. Buy Seed Lock as soon as you roll a seed you do not want to lose — before you roll again.

Upgrade order that works for most players 🎯

Follow this order so your coins do the most work at each step:

#1
👆
Click Amount
Manual Yield

Each level increases the number of crops collected per click action. The most immediate income booster in the early game — every click becomes more valuable. Buy first, upgrade 2–3 times before moving on.

💡 Buy the first 3 levels immediately. Returns diminish after Level 5 — stop upgrading once you have Sprinklers running.
#2
🍀
Seed Luck
Roll Probability

Shifts the seed roll probability distribution toward rarer crops. Level 1 gives a noticeable improvement in rolling Uncommon; Level 3+ makes Rare seeds appear regularly. Second priority after Click Amount.

💡 Get to Level 3 before your first Rare seed hunt. Level 5 is the long-term goal — opens up Mythic rolls at a meaningful rate.
#3
🔒
Seed Lock
Seed Protection

Prevents your equipped seed from being overwritten when you roll for a new one. Without this, rolling overwrites your current seed regardless of its rarity. Buy the moment any Rare seed appears in your inventory.

💡 This is not optional. The moment you roll a Rare or better seed, buy Seed Lock before doing anything else.
#4
💧
Sprinkler Power
Automation Speed

Each level increases the harvest speed multiplier for all placed Sprinklers simultaneously. Unlike Click Amount, this upgrade's value scales with how many Sprinklers you own — 2+ Sprinklers makes each level twice as valuable.

💡 Start investing here once you own 2+ Sprinklers. This is your primary upgrade target in the mid-game.
#5
🎲
Seed Rolls
Roll Quantity

Gives multiple seed roll attempts in a single action, increasing your overall probability of landing rare seeds. Works best when combined with high Seed Luck — more tickets with better odds.

💡 Invest in Seed Luck first. Seed Rolls without high Seed Luck is like buying more lottery tickets with bad odds.

First layout: use your sprinklers well

Put sprinklers so they cover the row — one at each end often covers a whole strip. Two identical sprinklers side by side do not “double” speed; they mostly stretch coverage. Plan rows, then add gear.

🌱 Early Game Layout 0 – 50,000 coins
🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱
💦 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 💦
🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱 🌱
🌱 = Crop plot | 💦 = Basic Sprinkler
  • Place Sprinklers at each end of the middle row — covers the full strip
  • Farm Strawberry exclusively at this stage for fast Mastery progress
  • Save all coins for Click Amount (×3) then Seed Luck (×2) before Sprinkler Power

Mid-game: the ~100K unlock

The Auto-Harvester and Conveyor Belt are often bought as a pair. The harvester picks crops up; the belt moves them to sell. If you only buy one, you can get stuck manually moving crops or cash. Save so you can get both in the same push when possible.

Quick mid-game checks:

  • Keep Click Amount high early; add Seed Luck so rolls improve.
  • When a Rare seed drops, lock it before rolling again.
  • Start Strawberry (or your fast Common) Mastery while you save — those bonuses last all game.

Every machine in short form 🚜

Here is what each piece of gear is for. Full detail is in the automation guide.

💦
Basic Sprinkler
Automation — Harvesting

Automatically harvests crops within its coverage radius without player input. Place at the end of a planting row for full coverage. Does not auto-sell — crops still require collection to the Sell Station without a Conveyor Belt.

🚜
Auto-Harvester
Automation — Harvesting

Automatically collects harvested crops from plots in its range. When paired with a Conveyor Belt, creates a fully automated harvest-to-sell pipeline. This is the most important equipment purchase in the entire game.

📦
Conveyor Belt
Automation — Transport

Transports harvested crops from the Auto-Harvester to the Sell Station automatically. The missing link in the passive income chain — without it, crops pile up at the harvester. Buy simultaneously with the Auto-Harvester.

🚜🚜
Double Harvester
Automation — Harvesting (Late)

An upgraded version of the Auto-Harvester with double the harvesting speed and a wider coverage radius. Replaces standard Auto-Harvesters in the late game. Significantly increases passive income per hour.

🐝
Beehive
Passive Bonus — Update 2

Placed inside the Bee Area zone. Bees fly from the hive across your farm, passively boosting crop productivity and sell value. Stacks with all other bonuses. Get one free with code BUZZBUZZ.

Mistakes to avoid

  • No Seed Lock after a good roll — the next roll can replace your rare crop.
  • Sprinkler Power with only one sprinkler — once you have two or more, each Sprinkler Power level helps more plots at once.
  • Stacking same-type sprinklers for “double speed” — same type extends range; it does not stack speed the way new players expect.
  • Skipping Mastery on fast crops — even early Strawberry Mastery adds up forever.

Beginner FAQ ❓

How do I get a Mythic (Pineapple) seed?

Mythic seeds are obtained through the seed roll system. To improve your chances: upgrade Seed Luck to Level 4–5 first, then upgrade Seed Rolls for multiple attempts per action. Mythic seeds are rare by design — expect to invest significant Seed Luck and Seed Rolls upgrade coins before one drops. When it does, immediately buy Seed Lock.

What should I upgrade first in Build A Farm Factory?

The recommended upgrade order is: (1) Click Amount ×3, (2) Seed Luck ×2, (3) Seed Lock when a Rare seed drops, (4) Sprinkler Power once you own 2+ Sprinklers, (5) Seed Rolls after Seed Luck is established. This order maximises income at every stage of early progression.

How do Sprinklers work in Build A Farm Factory?

Sprinklers automatically harvest crops within their coverage radius without player input. They do not stack speed when placed side-by-side (same type) — instead they extend coverage area. Place one at each end of a planting row for full coverage. Upgrade Sprinkler Power to increase harvest speed across all placed sprinklers simultaneously.

What is the best Build A Farm Factory layout for making money fast?

The best layouts vary by stage. Early game: two Sprinklers at row ends with Strawberry. Mid game: Auto-Harvester + Conveyor Belt + Rare seed with Sprinklers covering all rows. Late game: full Mythic Pineapple with Double Harvesters, two Beehives centrally placed, and maximum Sprinkler Power. See the Money Guide for detailed emoji grid layouts.
